Hi Neighbors, I am the Owner of Romp n' Roll Pittsburgh and a resident of Highland Park. If you aren't familiar with Romp n' Roll, we are a kid's gym with gym, art, and music classes for kiddos up to age 6. We also have summer camps, kids night out events, and amazing birthday parties! We are located on Hamilton Avenue and would love to hire some local friends to help us out. We are looking for weekend staff to help with our birthday parties. This is a part-time position for anyone who wants to have fun working with kids. Perfect for teachers, college students, theater majors or actors. With base pay plus tips you have the earning potential of up to $20 per hour. As a Birthday Bash Leader, you will have a blast leading parties for 1-6 year olds including leading fun games and activities in our gym as well as assisting with serving refreshments in the party room. Since there was so much interest / concern about the trees that were removed in the park parallel to Bunker Hill Street, I asked PWSA for a written explanation of the decision making. I’ve attached a schematic here that shows the selections that were made. The decision for these removals was made in partnership with City Parks and City Forestry, who joined us for a site-walk before the project began. Going from left to right on the schematic: - Removing 10” crabapple - Pruning low limbs on two 30”+ trees to minimize the drip line - Remove maple and oak trees, to be credited by the City for removal. These trees are both very close to the path of the pipe *and* were deemed to by dying by Forestry. If you walk past, you can see that the trimmed branches are hollow. - Remove 25” oak - In blue, I circled an additional tree at the far right of the schematic to be removed. Forestry will determine where trees will be placed back into this area, with ample space from the pipe. We appreciate residents’ understanding as we make this crucial connection between our two reservoirs, which will provide a link between the systems and add an additional layer of security to our water service. ADT alarm fob

I no longer need this Key Fob for an ADT home alarm system. It’s a convenient, one-touch system for arming and disarming and using the panic button, which tells ADT to send emergency services. I gave it to houseguests to avoid teaching them how to use the alarm, and used it myself all of the time. As a result, the graphic icons on mime are quite worn compared to the one pictured, but a little white nail polish or similar can help. Buttons for Away, Stay, Off, and Panic. I’m not sure whether you can self-program or must ask ADT. I have no idea whether it’s compatible with other brands of Alarms. $5 (they are $100 or more new) Location is Shadyside

Hi! I’m Tony Polombo Let me introduce myself for those who don’t yet know me. I live in a suburb of Pittsburgh and have been passionate about cooking my entire adult life. I have cooked dinners for a number of social groups. I also love teaching and writing about cooking and have even published my own cookbook! I am retired but since cooking is what I love and do best, I would like to do some cooking for others who would enjoy my food but don’t have the time or inclination to cook or always go to restaurants. It started with a friend who because she was caring for an elderly parent, asked me to cook some meals for her in return for an opportunity to stretch my monthly Social Security check. She asks me to cook 3 or 4 dishes of her choosing which I prepare and deliver to her kitchen in refrigerated and packaged form for eating then or storing for later. The cost includes a reasonable hourly and delivery charge plus the price of the groceries. This compares well with restaurant prices with the extra bonus that with in-home dining, beverages such as wine or spirits purchased from a store are much more reasonably priced when not charged by the glass! It has worked very well for both of us but I am sending this out hoping to find a few others who would enjoy what I have to offer. So what kind of dishes do I offer? If I have one specialty, I would have to say it’s Italian but I also have experience with Greek specialties such as moussaka, spanakopita, and baklava along with a wide variety of American dishes. I believe I can cook (almost) anything if needed but there are a handful of items I have perfected over the years that I can call a specialty of mine: Lasagna Pasta in a tomato sauce with meatballs and sausage Tagliatelle with Bolognese Sauce Fettuccine Alfredo Crab Cakes with Mustard Sauce Pad Thai (yes, my version is authentic!) Tiramisu NY Cheesecake Key Lime Pie (I use much more available Persian limes.) But this is just a list to get you started. This week, my present client asked me to cook a Jewish specialty, noodle kugel. Not familiar to me but there are enough reliable cooking sources that I am confident I can prepare something she (or you) will like. I am here to serve your wants and likes! ISO swim instructor for my 7 year old

Hi neighbors, The Covid-19 pandemic put us a little off schedule in getting our youngest to learn to swim. He took some lessons last year, but i definitely want to get him some more instruction this summer. If there is anyone out there with some swim instruction experience that might be interested, please be in touch. Where to actually do the lessons is often the trickiest part of these conversations.
