ABOUT US: We are a family of 4, becoming a family of 5 come late October, early November. Mom/Dad love cooking, biking, family, art and outdoors. We are goofy, fun-loving, and laid-back creative types who forgo TV for books, caffeine for crepes, new for used, religion for spirituality and order for controlled chaos. Our kids love reading, biking, building, dirt, the outdoors, dancing, learning, music, art and free play. We believe that everyone deserves kindness and respect. OUR SITUATION: Our children g/5, b/3 are starting school/daycare, the eldest in Kindergarten and the youngest (soon to be middle) in 3 days a week childcare from 8-3:30pm. We are in the middle of another big transition with adding a baby of unknown gender into the mix (we love mystery and surprise). SAHM (for the time being) needs help getting kids ready for school and fed especially after baby is born as Dad's schedule doesn't allow for prep help. THE JOB: Help us fill the gaps in our new zone defense childcare / home maintenance strategy! Flexibility is key as ideally we would like someone who can jump back and forth between house cleaning/tidying and childcare/child shuttling. We are hoping to have a clear schedule set up for cleaning/laundry/food prep/grocery shopping and child drop-off/pick-up. We may even need help with extracurriculars after Baby is born as Mom won't be able to participate in the same way for a few months. When with children, we expect limited / zero phone use, highly engaged play or curation of play. Must emphasize safety around dogs, water and street crossing. Special attention to Covid safety protocols (masking in public, frequent hand washing and use of hand sanitizer). Must be vaccinated and live with vaccinated family / roommates. Hours: 25-33 hours a week, dependent on hourly rate Rate: $15-20/hr, dependent on experience Days: TBD. We can be flexible on days / times to fit the caregiver's schedule. One child is in school M-F 8-3, the other Tu-Th 8:30-3:30, both in Squirrel Hill at separate locations. Seeking female caregivers for a sixty four year-old disabled woman with MS in Squirrel Hill. Caregivers must be fully vaccinated and follow COVID safety procedures. Looking for mornings and evenings, and an occasional afternoon. Hours are flexible, but a typical morning shift starts around 8 or 9, and ends around 1 or 2 and includes stretching, feeding, transfers, bathing, and dressing. Evenings are up to 4 hours and include feeding and getting ready for bed. My house is accessible by bus (10 min walk) and there is plenty of street parking. Paid training will be provided. My Car theft videos - stops made targeting others in HP

Hi All! So we had our car stolen this Monday the 9th at approx 3:19 am. The car was recovered quickly the next day, without damage. More info on the incident at the end. The cool thing was, I caught a bunch of it on dash cam. I was able to pull a decent amount of footage *and handed everything over to the cops.* YOU DO NOT NEED TO SHARE IT WITH THEM, or CONTACT THEM. They are on it. Feel free to check out any of the videos (with audio and adult language). There was at least one other house/vehicle, that I was able to see with a quick scan, that they almost stole and I personally went down to notify them (because it could take time for the police to scour). I don't know if you'll see any more stops at houses on these videos, but I don't have time to scour the footage. So I will make it public for interested people. Maybe you will recognize one of the kids? *Again, the cops have all of this footage and will be scouring, you don't need to contact them.* https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/15-UCUuf7fdMYNH2Rr-S5ydUR1bsazfiS?us… *Feel free to browse, or even comment with time stamps etc. * READ ON IF YOU WANT TO KNOW MORE or stop and go about your life :) So... they work in teams, and typically teens. They head to different areas and just walk the streets flipping handles, just like the late-night addicts do. However, these guys are looking for cars with keys left inside (not cables and change etc). You know we've all left keys in the car. It's life and we're all human. Once they have a car with a key, they will pick up the gang and drop the car off in a random location, then wait to see if anyone retrieves the car. If so, it has a GPS tracker. If not, they will then use the car for crimes. If you have a hectic life and don't have a fancy app to find the car in the morning, go get a small GPS tracker that can mount in a concealed location. It will probably come with an app. We were fortunate enough to have one built-in with Mazda's app. Which is how we found it so fast. * If this happens to you, GO GET YOUR CAR RE-Keyed. They will keep the keys and have been known to come back to steal it again. We are in the process of having the car and house re-keyed. I'm certain if we didn't have a GPS tracking, we would have a much bigger problem! I'm done, but if anyone wants more info on security cameras and such, I'd be happy to give info. Secure your vehicles & other tips from a police officer

Hi Neighbors, While we are fortunate to live in a low crime community, it is not uncommon for vehicles to be broken into (especially when the weather is nice) or for items to be stolen from porches. Here are some tips on prevention from a police officer: As a general rule, never leave anything worth taking in your vehicle and always lock it. Also always keep your doors locked on your home and porch lights on. A lit up house is less likely to get targeted because the “bad guys” don’t have a concealment aspect at night if the porch light is on. If someone enters your vehicle, by breaking something or if it’s unlocked, call the police. Most thieves live off of “opportunistic crimes” and will walk around pulling on door handles til they find one unlocked. You don’t have to actually file a report. But it helps the PD intel people to create crime stats and then they can direct patrols to the “hot spots”. Greetings friends. My wife recently had a tragic mishap with a deep puddle and elongated dunk of her iphone, that also included cars running atop it while it lived in the shallows for 3 days. Alas, we recovered the device from Davey Jones locker, but have little reasonable hope for it. If you have an iPhone that you are looking to market, say an X(x) or SE 2020, we'd be interested.
