Hi All! So we had our car stolen this Monday the 9th at approx 3:19 am. The car was recovered quickly the next day, without damage. More info on the incident at the end. The cool thing was, I caught a bunch of it on dash cam. I was able to pull a decent amount of footage *and handed everything over to the cops.* YOU DO NOT NEED TO SHARE IT WITH THEM, or CONTACT THEM. They are on it. Feel free to check out any of the videos (with audio and adult language). There was at least one other house/vehicle, that I was able to see with a quick scan, that they almost stole and I personally went down to notify them (because it could take time for the police to scour). I don't know if you'll see any more stops at houses on these videos, but I don't have time to scour the footage. So I will make it public for interested people. They head to different areas and just walk the streets flipping handles, just like the late-night addicts do. However, these guys are looking for cars with keys left inside (not cables and change etc). You know we've all left keys in the car. It's life and we're all human. Once they have a car with a key, they will pick up the gang and drop the car off in a random location, then wait to see if anyone retrieves the car. If so, it has a GPS tracker. If not, they will then use the car for crimes. If you have a hectic life and don't have a fancy app to find the car in the morning, go get a small GPS tracker that can mount in a concealed location. It will probably come with an app. We were fortunate enough to have one built-in with Mazda's app. Which is how we found it so fast. * If this happens to you, GO GET YOUR CAR RE-Keyed. They will keep the keys and have been known to come back to steal it again. We are in the process of having the car and house re-keyed. I'm certain if we didn't have a GPS tracking, we would have a much bigger problem! I'm done, but if anyone wants more info on security cameras and such, I'd be happy to give info.
