Christmas Tree Recycling Sign Up Details

Hi, neighbors, Sorry for multiple emails, but I wasn't sure how long it would take to get this pulled together and didn't want folks to put out their trees for trash before I could get the details shared. Thank you for all of your support to this effort over the years! With some of the profit from previous years' efforts, we were able to send holiday care packages to soldiers who were serving abroad last year. We are not sure how we will give back this year, but we always find some way to do so. Thank you for helping us give back in this way. For this year, if you live in Highland Park, East Liberty, or Morningside, our troop can pick up your tree and deliver it to a City of Pittsburgh location for tree recycling on Saturday, January 9th for a donation of $5. In order to make this a truly contact-free program this year, we encourage you to make your donation via PayPal (details for how to contribute can be found on the form that is linked to below). Alternatively, we ask that you place your cash donation in an envelope and you let us know where we can find it when we pick up the tree. We are also asking, this year, that your tree be ready for us in your front yard, rather than on your porch or some other similar location. *Here is the link to have your tree picked up from Highland Park, East Liberty or Morningside: https://forms.gle/9TjWeXgVVevNDGcV7 <https://forms.gle/9TjWeXgVVevNDGcV7>* We will have a limited number of slots available and once we have reached our limit, I will close down sign ups on our form. You cannot recycle any wreaths on the wreath frame, but if you cut the wires connecting the branches to the frame, you can recycle the branches, and then you could re-use the form to make a new wreath next year! Blessing Board is a non-profit with locations in Oakmont and McKeesport that accepts gently used household furniture, working appliances, and home furnishing accessories. Items donated to The Blessing Board are re-donated to families in financial hardship. Christmas Tree Recycling - look for email

Happy New Year, neighbors! We are glad to announce that we will, again, be picking up Christmas trees in Highland Park, East Liberty and Morningside for a small donation to bring them to be recycled through the city this year. We are sorry for the delay to the announcement, but we have been trying to figure out how best to do this and still be safe for our girls and our neighbors. Another troop will be picking up in Shadyside and Point Breeze. Please look for the email to the neighborhood to be coming out in the next day, so please do not put your tree out for the trash, if you would like us to pick it up.. We would like to encourage everyone to *not* throw out their tree, even if we cannot pick it up, in order to decrease the amount in the landfills and excess emissions from the organic matter breaking down.
