Hello Neighbors! This is it: the final night of our four month, Summer Porch Concert series. If you enjoyed the music and the community, thank our musicians and *visit HPCCPgh.org and join the HPCC!* We plan to bring the concert series back next year; we have more safe, fun activities in the works for the fall and winter; and we will continue to work on and keep you informed about the issues of importance to the neighborhood - but we can't do anything without membership support. UPDATE-- Bo the cat came home!

Hello Neighbors, I am happy to report that Bo came home and seems to be safe and sound, though a bit spooked. One of my housemates spotted her out of the corner of his eye coming down the alley close to 1am. He and another housemate followed her and tried to catch her in a little courtyard behind a neighbors house. She was very obviously freaked out, hissing even when a familiar voice talked to her calmly and tried to coax her home, and she even jumped the fence to escape (totally shocking to us as she is hesitant to even jump up on the couch). They decided to stop pursuing her, worried they'd push her even further from our home. Earlier in the day, a friend of ours loaned us a have-a-heart trap, and so we set that with some food on the back porch. We left our backdoor open ajar all night. I camped out near the porch, and near 4:30am I heard some rustling. Sure enough, when I looked out on the porch, there was a very familiar whining grey furball in the have-a-heart trap. After 3 cans of food, a lot of water, and some snuggles, she is mostly back to her old self. She's currently curled up on the couch next to me purring. The whole thing would almost be funny if I wasn't so terrified before. Never in a million years would I think we'd be pursuing Bo down an alley as she hops a fence and then later capturing her in a trap. I know some cats are adventurers, but Bo literally just snuggles, lays in the sun, and waits for her food robots to dispense food to her. As I mentioned when she was lost, she's just very gentle and docile. I guess just like people, cats can surprise you. I so appreciated everyone looking out and offering tips. It kept me somewhat sane during what felt like near constant anxiety for nearly an entire day. Also, despite how difficult everything is in the world right now, my neighbors well wishes, tips and offers of help genuinely renewed my faith in humanity a bit, so I'm grateful for that too. Hi neighbors, Book 'Em <http://bookempa.org/>, a wonderful nonprofit in Garfield that sends books to incarcerated people, is in need of books! Specifically, the three most-requested categories: mysteries, fantasy novels, and thrillers (paperback or hardback okay). There are a other categories of books <http://bookempa.org/books-we-need> that they're always in need of - full list at the bottom of this e-mail. Cat Still Missing- Bo

Hello Neighbors, Thanks to everyone who has reached out with encouragement and tips. We still have not found Bo yet. We have opened all the doors to our house and put food nearby. We put out a have-a-heart trap for her with food in it. I put out her favorite lounging box near the house. We've talked to and searched around all our immediate neighbors houses for the most part. Again, she is a small, but on the well-fed side, grey with orange spots Tortoiseshell cat. She is an indoor cat, and in our 8 years living in Highland Park/East Liberty, she has never even tried to get out. A kind neighbor re-sized a photo I sent of her, and it is attached here. I've also reached out to Animal Rescue League and posted on Pawboost (which folks have suggested. Thanks!). We live very close to the Dilworth school and the garages on Meadow St (what Heberton turns into), so if you are around that area, please keep a lookout. If you see her you may be able to apprehend her, she is an extremely docile cat, though can be skittish. If you see her, please let us know here, or I can be contacted at 412-216-4836. I am glad to keep receiving tips. Having more things to try at the very least keeps my mind occupied in a more productive way about the whole thing. My human companions I live with have likewise been invaluable. Thanks so much for your time and consideration and everyone who has reached out and said kind things so far.
