We are retiring and downsizing. Must sell some furniture. These end tables are solid wood with a wood stained top and a green base. Each table has a drawer. Minor marks on top but in good condition. ISO pasta roller?

Hey Neighbors, With all this new time on our hands we've gotten into making homemade pasta. We've been rolling it by hand, which was a fun experience, but not very efficient. Anyone have a pasta roller collecting dust in their basement that they don't want anymore and would sell us? Thanks Sarah

Cat dry food and cat items

Our wonderful cat of more than 17 years is no longer with us and I have some dry food (adult version, of course, purina) and a couple of cat litter boxes (one very plain, the other with a “mesh/net” to facilitate removal of dirty material) that I no longer need. Free if you can use any of it. We have been in quarantine since beginning of March, are free of any symptoms and have washed the litter boxes, but I would recommend for you to leave the items untouched for 3 days (being extra safe) in a spot where the virus can decay. Local honey

Hey Highland Park neighbors. I have 1 lb jars of honey available for sale. 1 for $14 or 2 for $25 Just a few left, honey is from last fall’s harvest. My hives are on my roof here in Highland Park. Pitt Study for Teens and Caregivers

Hello HP Listserv, Colleagues at Pitt were trying to recruit families with teenagers between 14-16 years of age, to complete some surveys online. I thought I would share that info below, especially after all the recent school closures. Please feel free to share the announcements with others, etc. Hope everyone is safe and healthy, Jamie. ---- Summary of the FInD study: Our project is looking for teens between the ages of 14-16 years old and one of their parents. We are hoping to better understand family income on parenting, stress and teen perceptions. We believe teen perceptions have a strong impact on school engagement and motivation. Our project hopes to better explain how these experiences affect families. Surveys are completed (at home/online) once a month for a period of 8 months. Survey questions are related to family finances, stress, school performance and parenting. Parents and teens are compensated for participating (about $250 each). RESPONSES TO "What to do with donations of various types?"

Hi all, In response to my request for information on open donation sites, quite a few people asked that I post what I have found out from all of you, about places that are taking donations during the Covid-19 shutdown. Not much is happening, as you might expect, but “not much” is better than nothing. Thanks to everyone who wrote!! One person responded that organizations need money more than they need stuff, which is true and . But with so many people being hit so hard financially and unable to afford things they might need, I'm hoping that passing along my extra bounty will ease someone’s burden a little or maybe even a lot. Here is what I have to share: - Goodwill. I looked up Goodwill, and it seems that they are taking donations again. Might be best to check the website to see which locations are participating, and if there are any limitations. They are pretty tight about what they take under the best of circumstances. - City Mission. LeeAnn W.C. sent an announcement of donation drop-off sites for City Mission, which is below. They are asking specifically for clothing, shoes, and non-perishable food items. - United 211. Dave Tinker suggested calling United Way’s 211 Help Line, to see if they are in touch with places that are accepting donations. - Mailing or shipping. Dora Magovern suggested googling specific categories to see if places are accepted mail-in donations. - FREE works, too. Many people wrote to say they are posting items in Free categories on Craigslist, Facebook, and Nextdoor (and here, of course), and putting them on the curb for pickup. No contact or schlepping required. I have done this as well, with great success, for furniture and larger household items in particular. I will continue to pass along information as I get it.
