We found our lost cat!

Dear neighborhood, If you live near Stanton Ave and Jackson Street, you may have seen our Lost Cat posters, talked with one of us over the past week, or seen the message here on this mailing list. We've just moved to the area, and last week lost one of our cats when a door blew open during a storm. Well, we are very happy (and much relieved) to report that, thanks to some keen-eyed neighbors a few doors down, we located Momma Cat yesterday and brought her home last night! Thank you everyone for your concern and caring. Losing a beloved fuzzy family member was definitely not the ideal welcome-to-the-neighborhood experience, but the compassion from everyone we encountered speaks volumes about the community present here. We're happy to now, finally, settle into making Highland Park our new home. A man and woman took it upon themselves recently to clean up the dog droppings last week. I u derstand they had shopping bags full. I’d like to thank this anonymous couple for this kind act. I really believe owners or walkers should keep after their dogs in the park. It is rude to leave it for others to do, especially in a public area. I’m tired of seeing people eating their lunch, chatting with others, ignoring what their dogs are up to. Again huge thanks to that very kind Frank Czuri

Hi everyone, We have a daughter who is nearly one and I was wondering if there any other folks with kiddos who are in a similar age range. With the weather breaking I thought it might be nice to get together for occasional walks, going to the park, playing, etc. And it would be nice to just get to know some other parents in the area! Warning: Sudden water pressure and outage problems

Just fyi, yesterday we and our neighbors experienced water pressure drops. This morning I turned on our kitchen faucet and there was no water at all. We received no warning from PWSA about anything affecting our service. Nothing on their website either. I'm aware of all the work being done in HP, but customers should be informed in advance of disruptions. Apparently, they are not doing this, so consider this an unofficial notice. Amy
