Below is an update from PWSA on the leak that was effecting the Lanpher Reservoir and Highland Park Reservoir service areas. They have determined that the leak is in the Lanpher Reservoir service area (on the other side of the river), and have taken steps to restore the Highland Park Reservoir to normal levels. Additional details are available below. There is currently no risk to water quality or supply. The leak was isolated by closing valves on three water mains that cross the Allegheny River. Since the valves were closed this afternoon, water levels are increasing at the Highland 2 reservoir. Tonight, PWSA is filling the Highland 2 reservoir to capacity. The Highland 2 reservoir can provide water service to the Lanpher service area tomorrow, if needed. Due to the leak, the Lanpher service area is estimated to be losing approximately 10,000 gallons per minute. This loss represents 20% of the average daily water production. PWSA is working through the night to identify the exact location of the leak. Reward for information re Hit & Run

Dear Neighbors (some serious information below), As some of you know, I was the victim in a Hit & Run on Friday, January 20 (Inauguration Day). I was walking across Freeport Road by the Rite-Aid in Fox Chapel/O'Hara Township when a red dirt bike/motorcycle plowed into me. It was riding on the wrong side of the road. The biker backed up and rode off. I was unconscious for a good while and could have died. I am (Thank God!) getting better. I am now trying to find the biker who did this. I am running an ad in tomorrow's Fox Chapel Herald offering a Reward for help in identifying the person who hit me. I also wanted to get this online especially in the Fox Chapel/O'Hara area. Since it seems that it was a dirt bike, it is likely to have been someone local. If you know anyone in the Fox Chapel/O'Hara area, I would appreciate your passing this on to them or telling me if Fox Chapel/O'Hara has some sort of community bulletin board like our HP listserve. Our City Councilwoman, Deb Gross, and our State Representative, Ed Gainey, will be sharing updates from City Hall and the State Capitol, as well as taking questions. Green Rocks Fitness will also be presenting on how your metabolism works "in a nutshell" and how to provide your body and mind with the proper food, movement & recovery to optimize health. ISO a get-away in the mountains/on a lake

My family and I would like a simple weekend away in a cabin. Ideal would be: 4 bedrooms 2 nights <2.5 hour drive Near stuff to do w a preschooler, toddler, and infant (walking around a neighborhood/biking/hiking, general simple exploring)without getting in the car or within a short distance drive N, S, E, W of Pgh does not matter Quiet extra points for a hot tub/Jacuzzi (indoor or outdoor) I get overwhelmed with the choices on vrbo/air bnb and thought I'd use good, old word of mouth. Thank you!
