Yoga for families

I just returned from "accessible yoga" for kids with special needs and their families. This is a great opportunity for any family with an ADHD, ADD, autistic or challenged kid. The suggested donation is only $15/family or whatever you want to give. There are two more dates in Sept to try it out: the 17th and 24th at noon and the session is held either under the beautiful trees at Highland Park (near the fountain) or at La Vida Yoga on Bryant St., (depending on weather.) My ADHD son said afterward that it was like taking his ADHD med - it gave him the same sense of focus and calm. You can't beat that! Empty-Nester Seeks Work Exchange/House-Sitting

Hi Friends, I just officially became an empty-nester, and now it is time for me to move on myself. I am currently seeking a work-in-exchange-for-rent type of situation. Perhaps you have a large house with extra rooms, or a third floor that is unused, and at the same time you are stressed from all the things you have to get done in a day. Or your elderly parents need some extra help around the house...I would love to help you out in any number of ways: I am a self-taught, excellent cook who can also help with shopping and errands, etc.; I am excellent at cleaning and organizing whatever clutter or out-of-control areas are in your home; I am great with animals (and plants) and often pet-sit when people are out of town; I have cared for both elders and children and seem to have a knack for making them feel comfortable; I have proofreading skills and am a decent writer; and am, in general, pretty adept at whatever I tackle and figure out. I would definitely need to stay within 20 minutes driving time of the East End of Pittsburgh, as I have part-time work there, but am open to going beyond the city limits. Let me know if you are interested, or know somebody who might be. I can also go the route of working for you with any of the above skills, if you do not have a room exchange available.
