Hello neighbors, I work at Garfield Community Farm in the neighborhood of Garfield and we are in need of woodchips. If you are having any trees taken down this fall, please feel free to let your tree company know that they can dump their chips at Garfield Community Farm at the intersection of Cornwall St. and Fannell St, right by the water tower at the top of the hill. leaves needed for compost

Hi, Neighbors, I've used up the last of the bags of leaves I grabbed off the curb last Fall, and new bags aren't appearing in great numbers yet. Two different people were looking for house plants on this list. I have some -- aloe, spider plants, and a few others -- that are available for adoption. They are small to medium in size (now ... will get bigger). Email me if you want them. Otherwise, they'll be going to the Bulb and Perennial swap at Wilkins School Community Center on October 8th. Neighbors, $100! We have again dropped the price of this excellent Maytag 24,000 btu air conditioner (w/ remote control). Please note if you do not have a 220 volt outlet in your house, you will need to install one for this AC. We had this done & it was not a big deal, and well worth it, because this AC was able to cool the entire first floor (in a big house). If you want to look at the AC today, it is on my front porch at 5541 Beverly Place, off N. Negley or off King Ave. If you’d like to buy it, bring $100 cash & 2 strong folks to carry it . It’s clean & ready to go.

Garage space, temporarily?

Hello neighbors! I have a dilemma perhaps you can help solve. I own one of the VW diesel cars tied up in the recent “clean diesel” scandal. I will be accepting the buy-back offer from VW which will occur sometime in late fall (November 1 is a projected date). In the meantime, I am no longer driving the car due to a service issue I would prefer not to address since the car will soon be taken off my hands. Like many Pittsburghers, I have a small garage and a narrow driveway with no space for extra vehicles. I am looking to garage the car for the next 2-3 months though the exact timeframe is a bit unclear. Do you have a garage that you are under-utilizing and which you’d be willing to rent for a couple of months? I would not be using the car during this time so my comings and goings would not be an inconvenience to you. Please let me know if you’re interested. Thanks Elisabeth
