Mardi Gras and Pancakes!

Friends and Neighbors-- Tuesday February 9 is Shrove Tuesday, Mardi Gras--traditionally observed here at St. Andrew's, Highland Park, with our annual "Shrove Tuesday Pancake Dinner and Mardi Gras Party!" Fun for all, youngsters and seniors, families and singles. Some get into the spirit with a bit of costuming, others "come as you are." Pancakes and the usual accompaniments will served from 5:30 - 6:30 p.m. Festivities, including the customary Pancake Flipping Competition and the crowning of the King and Queen of Mardi Gras, will conclude by 7 p.m. All by free-will donation. Mark the family calendar now! And a reminder: Services on February 10th for Ash Wednesday, with Imposition of Ashes and Holy Communion, will be at 7:15 a.m., 12 noon, and 8 p.m.

Our "Movers and Shakers!" Featured this Sunday, February 7, will be *Monica Watt*, who serves as President of the Highland Park Community Council! She'll share with us about the important and wide ranging contributions that the HPCC makes to our lives here in this great neighborhood--and we'll hear her story: how she got involved; what this kind of participation in the community means for her. Should be fun! Join us for refreshments and conversation, downstairs in Barley Hall, in the 10 a.m. - 10:45 a.m. "hour between the 9 a.m. and 11 a.m. services" this Sunday morning . . . .
