Commander Lando's weekly Zone 5 update is below and attached. Incidents and Arrests from Highland Park include: Incidents: 10/10/16 Burglary – 5600 block Stanton Avenue. Victim returned home after being gone a few days and found that someone entered her apartment, ransacked it, stole a TV and some household items, then fled. No forced entry noted. (191952) 10/10/16 Stolen Vehicle – 1000 block Heberton Street. Victim reported that someone stole his 2002 gold Honda Civic (PA plate EMP-9712). (191480) 10/11/16 Theft from Vehicle – N. Negley Avenue & Jackson Street. 10/14/16 Robbery – Stanton Avenue & Mellon Street, 6:14 AM. A 74 year-old female victim was approached by an unknown suspect while at the bus stop. The suspect grabbed her purse and pushed her to the ground before fleeing. The suspect made off with the victim's purse containing her cash, ID cards, and house keys. Officer Rick Cerrillos responded to the call and, after gathering the information for the report, took the victim to the Waterworks Mall and bought her breakfast. (194076) 10/15/16 Theft from Vehicle – 6400 block Stanton Avenue. 10/16/16 Burglary – 900 block N. Negley Avenue. Electronics were stolen. (195688) Arrests: 10/12/16 at 3:19 AM – Samantha Way & Jackson Street (Highland Park): Officer Maddox was on patrol when he came across a 2007 gray Mazda 3 sedan that had been reported stolen earlier in the week. Officer Maddox followed the vehicle at a distance until enough back-up units were in the area to safely stop the vehicle. As the vehicle began to park on Jackson Street, officers moved in and took the driver into custody. He was identified as a 16 year-old male from Highland Park. He was transported to Shuman Center.
