stolen garden tools

Hello neighbors, Sometime in the past few days, my bucket of garden tools was stolen from my front porch on Heberton St. It was an orange Home Depot bucket wearing a black & green bucket buddy, and it had a lot of hand tools in it. Most of tools were marked with blue electrical tape, and they include: 2 pairs red offset pruners (one of these was marked with yellow AND blue electrical tape) 1 hori hori knife trowels (green & orange-red) hand rake (green) two kinds of twine (white cotton, green sisal) roll of white grafting tape roll of green stretchy tying tape roll of blue electrical tape orange Fiskars scissors/shears Leatherman Skeletool CX some green plastic garden stakes zip ties foam twist ties plastic plant labels pens & Sharpies several pairs of gardening/work gloves set of large ratcheting loppers (I believe these were Fiskars 32" long loppers with a 1.5" or 2" diameter cut; they were not marked with blue tape) and possibly a 100’ measuring tape (it’s usually in there but I had it out last week — I can’t find it but I could have put it down somewhere). If you see any of these floating about the neighborhood, or the bucket itself anywhere, please let me know! (Yes, I am filing a police report — waiting on the callback now.) —laura

We are seeking individuals to fill a variety of school day and afterschool positions. Summary of Positions Tutor – This position pays $12-14/hour for 10-15 hours per week. NLA is looking for tutors with strong academic skills to tutor middle and high school students in our school day and afterschool programs. Tutors should have some experience working with middle and high school students in urban schools. Tutors will work one and one and with small groups of students helping with homework, online academic credit recovery courses and general academic tutoring. Preference will be given to applicants with strong math and science backgrounds. Warrior Coach – These positions pay $12.50-$15/hour for 15-20 hours per week. NLA is seeking two or three really strong individuals to work with its Reading and Tech Warrior programs. The applicant should have an understanding of and passion for reading and/or STEM and some youth management experience. The Warrior coaches will manage and support a group of our high school workers (Warriors) as they train and provide afterschool reading and STEM programming to elementary children in our afterschool network. The program operates during afterschool time Monday-Thursday and from 10AM-2PM on Saturday. Afterschool Program Assistant – These positions pay between $11-15/hour. Staff will be assigned to work at one of the NLA supported elementary, middle or high school afterschool programs. This position will support the site coordinator with the planning and implementation of the NLA afterschool program model at their designated site. Applicants should have experience with elementary, middle or high school populations and with managing afterschool programs and staff. This staff person would need to be available generally during afterschool times on Monday through Friday.
