I have a few things to share with you on this subject. I have been told by people in charge that this is a very safe process, however, we have some neighbors who are highly sensitive to this type of spraying. If you are one of those people, you may want to make arrangements to be out of the neighborhood between 8 pm and 10:30 pm tonight. If you are not highly sensitive to the spray - just a little concerned overall about the concept, officials suggest that you keep your windows and doors closed and stay inside with your pets during the hours of spraying. I also received the response below to my earlier email. I thought I should share it with the neighborhood since so many people have installed rain barrels as part of the 15206 initiative. “I've got 5 rain barrels and regularly treat my collected rain water with mosquito dunks. Considering private education?

Pittsburgh Urban Christian School(PUCS) has openings in a few grade levels for the 2015-16 school year. All three of our children have thrived at PUCS. We have two in the Middle School now and we're very happy with the supportive and challenging environment that PUCS provides. Also, our one son that has graduated from PUCS felt very well prepared for high school. If you know of families moving into Highland Park (or other nearby neighborhoods) or of others considering private, faith-based education, please put in a good word for PUCS. Just a note, many middle school students can qualify for state tax credit funding to attend a private school since our feeder school in HP is ranked as a failing school by the state. PUCS features small classrooms, hands-on learning, integrated curriculum, and a commitment to diversity both ethnically and economically. Bussing is available through Pgh Public.
