Hi All, With summer flying by and the school year around the corner, now is the perfect time to get a head start on all of those tough subjects. I have been teaching professionally for the last 5 years and have been tutoring and volunteering for over 10. I am skilled in many fields and graduated from Ohio State with a BA in Spanish and English. Through classroom experience I've found that I love to teach but I prefer working one-on-one with students rather than a crowded classroom. I live in Highland Park and currently use the East Liberty and Squirrel Hill libraries to meet my students. My rates are flexible for lower income families and I am available most days. Freedom Unlimited, Inc. is sponsoring the second of a five-part series on race and racism Tuesday, 15 July from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. at The Neighborhood Academy, 709 N. Aiken Avenue (the former site of the Stanton Heights Shopping Center off Black Street). This specific conversation is focused on Race and Media: a Discussion of Fruitvale Station and 12 Years a Slave. Panelists are Billy Jackson, NOMMO Productions; Luqmon Abdus-Salaam; Darius Prier, Duquesne University; Liana Maneese; and Njaimeh Njie, Ya Momz House.
