[Highland Park] Dog left outside in cold - back of house next to Mellon market

Anyone know these folks? I've driven down the alley several nights in a canvassing the neighborhood row on "doggie" patrol and seen their Rottie outside chained up in the freezing weather. He has only rudimentary shelter - you can see through the slats so I'm not counting it as shelter. I'm now doing a drive-by look-see in my car at timed intervals so I can get a true picture of how long they leave this guy out there in freezing weather and snow with no access to water...my current estimate based on past day's observation is at lengths of 2+ hours. I'vecalled the authorities and will do it again until action is taken. Please support me and do the same - if several people complain there is a better chance of action. There is another barking dog around the same area - he literally barked for hours and howled yesterday night - but I haven't been able to locate the dog. Please help me locate him! Sounded like a hound or beagle... Will be updating periodically. Thanks! Peetie

[Highland Park] Phone Scams - Computer Related

Hi there, I just spent 45 minutes, (connecting remotely using Windows Remote Assistance) removing some junk ware, VNC connection software, and 12 trojan viri, from the PC of a person that fell for a phone scam, allowing the scammer to login to their PC. Success with the above. It’s all clean now. Remote Assistance is pretty awesome! Main point is ... No one legitimate will ever call you and tell you you have problems and request to login to your PC. I was told the call was very convincing, supposedly from Microsoft. The person that fell for it is a very intelligent professional, who just happens to be very trusting. Stay safe! The 2 dogs that were found last night on the corner of wellesely and north saint clair were taken to the animal rescue league shelter and wildlife center on hamilton ave. the dogs will stay in shelter for 3 days waiting to be claimed and after they will go up for adoption.
