[Highland Park] Lost German Shepherd?

I just had an encounter with a loose and collarless german shepherd, on N Euclid between the blocks of Stanton and Jackson Street. Loose dog was very skittish and charged me barking- I was pretty scared that I would be bit. He smelled me and went on his way. I was unable to get him to come to me or calm down. This was about 15min ago if he is your lost pet. Thank you, Lauren

[Highland Park] another dumped bike spotted

Hi. This morning on my walk I spotted what appears to be a newer looking bike dumped in a trench in the park. It is a male's mountain bike, neon green with straight handle bars. The tires were in tact - not bent or flat but the seat was a little discombobulated, I guess from being tossed. I was able to climb down about 3/4 of the way to try to retrieve it but didn't have the right shoes on for that terrain, and my ribs just healed from being broken, so I didn't want to risk it. (The leaves are wet and it is a little steep.). It can be retrieved though - and if you thinks it's yours, I can show you where it is. Right beyond the tennis courts, as you are walking towards the pool - there is a black wall overlooking a trench. It is down there. I hope the proper owner or someone who needs a nice looking bike gets it! Celeste Sheridan Ave

[Highland Park] sturdy woodstove, free

We have a very well-built Frontier Woodstove 1978, that we used for years and years and finally decided we wanted one that was a tad smaller. We heated our whole house with it and it would be great for a large studio, loft, workshop or garage space. It has no cracks or splits in the body. The internal firebox has a firebrick liner and needs a few new bricks. The baffle or flame-guard below the flew needs to be welded back on.
