ROBERT HIGGS gets one more loud vote of approval from me. He discovered the source of a pernicious leak in my roof, and his excellent assistant, John, repaired the problem (sealed the flashing) after two failed and costly attempts by two other reputable contractors., who failed to correctly diagnose the problem. After the most recent downpours, my inside ceiling and walls have remained dry (ruined twice before due to incorrect analysis of the leak.) [Highland Park] Ladder jacks to borrow?

Hello, My father-in-law is coming from out of the country to stay with us and help us paint the exterior of our house (he is a professional painter). Given he can't bring supplies with him from overseas, we are looking to borrow two ladder jacks (our ladder is 15" wide, so at least that large). He is here for all of Sept., so ideally we'd borrow them for the month. However, if we could borrow them intermittently throughout that time, that would still help. Thank you! Meg

A small thin light grey/tiger striped young kitten started coming up to our porch this past weekend. I live in the 800 block of Mellon Street. He (its definitely a boy) comes each night wanting to be fed. He is very friendly, very thin (can feel and see his ribs). I have him in my dog crate tonight in my basement with food and water. We are renovating our powder room and have a working kohler toilet in white and an acrylic utility sink in a white particle board cabinet with working faucet and sprayer, not showroom shape but functional for a basement.
