Hello! The Highland Park Community Council is working with the Pittsburgh School District to represent the needs of families and students in the neighborhood, but we need your help. The HPCC and representatives from the Morningside Area Community Council have jointly developed a school survey. Please take the HPCC/MACC School Survey<https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/JB9FRWR>which will be open until Monday, June 17th at midnight. You may have already taken the School District's Survey, but please take a few minutes to take the HPCC/MACC School Survey. We need information about how the District could better meet your needs at our local schools such as Fulton, Dilworth, Sunnyside and the Obama Academy. In January 2013, the District embarked on a large scale visioning process called Envisioning Education Excellence: A Plan for All of Pittsburgh's Students to address the current state challenges and future goals of the District. I sold a box recently at a yard sale to a very nice woman that contained tea pots, mixed dishes and a sake set from Japan. The woman I'm looking for bought it without looking at everything that was inside. It was all wrapped and I assumed it was yard sale stuff. I have a bad feeling that my husband put that box unknowingly in the yard sale pile for I can't seem to find my vintage cigarette lighter and cigarette holder plus a few other things now that I've moved in. There may also be a very small framed flower made by my great aunt. I'd be willing to buy the box back if there are other things in there that shouldn't have been. If you're reading this post, please contact me! It has great sentimental value and I would appreciate it very much. Thank you.

Hello, My good patio chairs were stolen about a month ago but I still want to enjoy my yard/garden so I am looking for 4 plastic patio chairs. You know, the cheapo kind that used to be sold everywhere. I looked in every discount store I could get to today and nobody sells them anymore!! I would pay a reasonable price for 4 matching white plastic patio chairs. I do not want to put anything super nice out because the punks will just keep stealing it - they couldn't lift the table, so at least I have that. Dear Neighbors - Please see the message below from Ginny Smiley, the owner of Smiley's Pet Pad on N Highland just over the bridge. It's only May - the bridge will be out until September - and there's the real possibility that this neighborhood gem could be a casualty. I would urge you to avoid the big boxes. Use her website. Get some folks together and collectively go over on a Saturday, when traffic is less awful. Does anyone have any suggestions for how to drum up business? I'd love to hear, and I will pass them along to Ginny. Thanks, neighbors. Let's save this little place.
