[Highland Park] Fwd: South Highland Bridge Blues
Dear Neighbors - Please see the message below from Ginny Smiley, the owner of Smiley's Pet Pad on N Highland just over the bridge. It's only May - the bridge will be out until September - and there's the real possibility that this neighborhood gem could be a casualty. I would urge you to avoid the big boxes. Use her website. Get some folks together and collectively go over on a Saturday, when traffic is less awful. Does anyone have any suggestions for how to drum up business? I'd love to hear, and I will pass them along to Ginny. Thanks, neighbors. Let's save this little place. Helen Dear Smiley Savers, Sorry my first email to you has to be so grim, but sad to say, that darn bridge has had a very negative impact on our business. Despite your valiant efforts, our numbers are down 30 to 40%. I am reaching out to my loyal fans. If you could put out the word via emails or facebook or any other way you can, we would be ever so grateful. Perhaps you have friends out of the area who could shop our online store at www.smileyspetpad.com this has been hard for me to do, but I am at my wits end trying to keep this little business alive. Thank you for all you have done in the past and hopefully in the future. Ginny ------------------------------ Msg sent via WebMail
