I know many of us are sole proprietors or independent contractors, work in small non-profit organizations, and are business/community leaders in our respective organizations. We might not be able to hire someone in social media communications, or aren't sure if we need to use it. On Monday, March 18th from 1-3pm, attend a Twitter class, starting at an introductory level. In other words, you don't even have an account yet, or have one and tweeted twice. Bring your laptop, tablet, or mobile device along; we'll be using them through out the time. What can you do with 140 characters? Doesn't everyone talk about what they ate for breakfast? We'll start from the account set-up, answer the "What's the deal with the # sign, and what is it use for?" question (it's called a hashtag), to how you could use it for your organizational purposes. The class will be held in the Union Project's first floor conference room. Cost is $30 in advance, up through Sunday, March 17th, and is $35 at the door. Pre-registration payment can be in cash or check up through Mar. 17th, and an additional major credit card option is available on the 18th. Contact me for payment arrangements for preregistration. One of my clients is a boutique waffle shop with a new location in the SouthSide on Carson St. In an effort to increase community awareness, they are doing some promotional opportunities in five Pittsburgh neighborhood business districts. We need folks with good PR, service, or customer service abilities to share a bit about our restaurant and pass on the materials.
