BRAND NEW LOCATION!!! Great news! First Notes was just approved to hold classes at the First United Methodist Church of Pittsburgh, 5401 Centre Ave., Pittsburgh 15232. That's the church that houses the Pittsburgh Toy Lending Library, one of the area's most wonderful organizations for families with young children. To begin our stay at FUMC, we're holding two free demonstration classes at 10 AM on Friday, March 22, and Friday, April 5 so that curious families can see what a Music TogetherR class is really like. The classes are free, but you do need to reserve a space by clicking on the register tab at http://www.mtfirstnotes.com. We have space for 12 children ages birth through 5 in each class. Hope to see you - spread the word! We'll start a regular 10 week session on Friday April 12.

[Highland Park] Smiley's Pet Pad

Neighbors - Many thanks to all of you who sent in their affirmation of Smiley's terrific service and Ginny's friendliness and knowledge. A kind neighbor brought her copies of the emails, and they brought her joy and happy tears all at once. Sadly, the business at Smiley's has dropped off fully 40% since the bridge closure. There is no way a small shop like that can sustain that kind of shortfall over the projected six months of bridge construction. I would urge all of you to make sure that you don't let Ginny and her terrific pet store go under. If you're a regular customer, bring a friend! If you've never been, do try. It's so much more humane than a big box. And if you're interested in a job as her delivery driver, go in and have a chat with her. She just might be interested. Remember, it's on S Highland, just across from Mad Mex and right near Tasty's and Casbah. Hope to see you there. Helen

Below is a list of the basic eligibility requirements, the application deadline is April 1. [Highland Park] Need a few good recommendations for heating company or individual

Hi, I am considering buying a small house that has two rooms and a bathroom in the back of the house that do not have heat. I am looking for a company or individual that could give me an estimate of what it would cost to do the work of bringing heat from the furnace up into these rooms on the first and second floor and do it in a reasonable amount of time. I would also like them to be affordable! The house has radiators throughout except for these three rooms.Hopefully some of you could recommend a company or individual that you had a great experience with!
