*Empty Bowls Throw Down at Union Project on Sunday, February 17th from 1:00 - 5:00 pm* Empty Bowls Throw Down<http://www.unionproject.org/events/empty-bowls-throw-down>is an open community bowl making session to help support the Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank <http://www.pittsburghfoodbank.org/>. Join us in our ceramic studio at 801 N. Negley for this hands-on bowl-making party! Community members of all skill levels and experience are welcome to come out and throw, hand build, or decorate a bowl for a great cause! We’ll have clay, pottery wheels, and plenty of work space available and some of our ceramics co-op members will be on hand to help out. All the bowls created during Throw Down will be fired and finished at Union Project, and then donated to the Greater Pittsburgh Food Bank and included in their upcoming Empty Bowls fundraiser. Empty Bowls is a national grassroots effort to fight hunger. At an Empty Bowls fundraiser, guests receive a handcrafted bowl and a simple meal of soup and bread. Guests keep their bowl as a reminder of those struggling to feed their families. We have selected some lesser known, limited release beers in our line-up. The pairing includes 5 beers and 3 entrees for $35 per person.
