In response to the recent requests for roofing replacement/repair, I would like to recommend -- Robert Higgs Higgs Development and Reconstruction 412-758-3306 Robert did a great job on our slate roof and gutter repairs. He does big jobs, but is not allergic to small jobs. He also does general contracting, painting, etc. After he repaired our roof, we kept him on for interior painting. Have been cutting Christmas trees for years with our kids, unfortunately our favorite tree farm closed a couple years ago. Tried others and haven’t been happy with farm and/or price. We found Renick’s Tree Farm this weekend. Definitely our new place. We paid $16 ( yep !) for a really nice 8 foot white pine. Although a sign said ‘$6 for baling’ they baled it for us at no cost. They have at least 6 varieties – you tell them what you want and they’ll point out the direction to hike. Beautiful farm … many acres, scenic old barn and lake on the property- perfect for Christmas pictures. They also had a huge bunch of pre-cut trees. About 50 minute drive north up Rt 8. Sharp Carousel, black, countertop model. Compact but larger than dorm-size. Microwave mechanism works fine but a couple of numbers on the keypad don't work so you have to be a little creative about entering the cooking time. Not the microwave for convenience in the kitchen, but perfect for a workshop or craft room. Write back if interested and it's yours. -- Lynn Cox
