Due to kitchen remodel a very usable stainless sink and faucet are for sale. The stainless sink measures 24 1/2" x 21 1/2" x 7' and the faucet is also stainless. The countertops are 94" long and then 32" around the corner. They are 24" wide. The sink/faucet and countertops can also be sold separately. Neighbors - Thanks for the responses many of you made to my post about our continuing education offerings at the Seminary! Many of the comments ran along the "Gee, didn't know you folks did this!" theme. Yes, we do, and I look forward to hearing more from you all. We spent yesterday pulling together an event for this coming Weds to commemorate the life and legacy of Nelson Mandela. The highlight of the evening will be a moderated discussion with two of our faculty and the rector emeritus of Calvary Episcopal, Harold Lewis. Faculty member Jannie Swart is a SAfrican native who, before pastoring a multicultural community in Johannesburg, was a national leader in the S African Democratic Party in the late 80s/early 90s, built on a platform to decriminalize the ANC, free Mandela, and mandate full and free elections. Drew Smith is a nationally recognized researcher and was a Fulbright professor in Pretoria. Harold Lewis taught at the Anglican seminary in Grahamstown and wrote a book on the S African church. The event is free and open to the public - Weds, 7-830pm, on the Seminary campus (follow the signage to the room). Attached is a flyer - feel free to forward it. Enkosi! Helen

Hello, everyone, We thought we would invite our Highland Park neighbors to share the turning of the year with us on New Year's Eve. For those of you who know us, you already know that Marty and I, me especially, are quite sentimental about New Year's. It's important to us to share the turning of the year at midnight with friends... old and new. So even if you don't yet know us, please join us for good and healthy gourmet food, games, and fellowship on Tuesday December 31 starting at about 8 pm and lasting as long as you want to stay. Dinner is potluck. Volunteers Needed for Market Square Holiday Market! Do you have Christmas Spirit? Here's a great way to get it: by helping the Food Bank! If you or your group are looking for a holiday activity that will cost you nothing, provide a lot of fun AND a meaningful experience, consider this volunteering opportunity to help the amazing Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank. This is the second year for the Holiday Market, which transforms Market Square into a sparkling, twinkling German Christmas marketplace, complete with all sorts of wonderful vendors, music, great food (bratwurst, hot pretzels, strudels, cider, etc) and festive crowds. Among the many chalet stalls is a full-size Santa's House, where visitors get a free photo with Santa if they make a donation of canned or non-perishable food or money for the Food Bank. The Food Bank needs 400 volunteers to cover all the available shifts at Santa's House between now and December 23. All you have to do is be there to greet people and collect the donations! Shifts are 3 or 4 hours, and you can sign up on a convenient online tool at www.pittsburghfoodbank.org/volunteer. This is a very festive event that was a huge hit with Pittsburghers last year. You can sign up to volunteer as an individual, a couple, a family or group. Work groups, scout troops, fraternities and sororities, church groups, groups of friends - all are welcome. Children can volunteer, too with a parent! With recent reductions in SNAP benefits, the holidays and the onset of winter, more and more Pittsburgh families will be in need of food assistance. Our Food Bank feeds 120,000 people a month: low-income workers, veterans, the disabled, the elderly and many, many children. These people are our neighbors. Volunteers are always needed and welcomed at the Food Bank, and this is a special event and a great way to get to know the Food Bank! Thank you! Nancy Santa’s House hours are as follows: Monday through Friday, 12 pm to 3 pm and 4 pm to 7 pm; Saturday, 12 pm to 3 pm and 4 pm to 8 pm; and Sunday, 12 pm to 4pm.
