Dear Neighbors and Community, I have been invited to be the Event Lead for the for initiative on behalf of the Inauguration Celebration of President Obama. Our overall mission is to demonstrate the President's commitment to community by taking action to make a difference where we live. It has been determined that no better time to do this than now in observance of the life of service demonstrated by Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. The President's National Day of Service is scheduled for Saturday, January 19th. One of the projects that has been organized for our community is Fire Prevention and Fire Safety. We are partnering with the American Red Cross who will be supplying us with literature on Fire Prevention and Safety. We are doing a lit drop in Highland Park out of Tazza D'Oro's *on 1/19 *from 11am - 2pm. We need as many volunteers as we can get to cover most streets. Please consider sending me your name with your interest to distribute Fire Prevention and Safety materials to our friends and neighbors.
