Hello Neighbors, This Monday January 21st is our next Neighborhood Tasting night. This month we will be featuring Pittsburgh Winery (formerly Engine House Winery), a local winery that sources grapes from California and makes the wine here in Pittsburgh. Chef Kevin has put together a tasting menu that pairs with the four wines we selected from the winery. Tim Gabor, the owner and winemaker, will be joining us for the evening answering questions about his urban winery. Here is the tasting menu for the evening - Starter wine - Chardonnay Seared sea scallops in puff pastry, beurre rouge sauce, stewed tomatoes with green peppercorn (Merlot) Grilled Wagu Beef & maitake mushroom bruschetta with fontinella cheese (Cabernet Sauvignon) Roast Duck, blue corn polenta, raspberry bitter chocolate demi (Zinfandel) The tasting is $35 per person. We will also have a limited menu available and all specials available at a la carte prices. We will be open from 6pm-9pm. No reservations, just come on in. [Highland Park] Bicyclists

Sunday afternoon I encountered a group of inconsiderate, self-entitled bicyclists riding FOUR ABREAST on the main streets of Highland Park. I thought the idea was to Share the Road, not to demand the whole road and hold up traffic just because you're allowed to be there. And I believe Pennsylvania law requires bicyclists to stop at stop signs, which apparently they also felt did not apply to them.
