[Highland Park] Thank you to a kind and honest stranger

I just wanted to say Thank you again to the kind man who brought my lost wallet back to me. I had just run to Bryant Street Market and when I got home I realized my wallet was missing. As I am sure it is with most people, your life is in your wallet...and the thought of spending the next few hours cancelling credit cards and debit cards, getting a new license etc was horrible. I was in tears having been so upset that I lost my wallet. Returning to the market a 2nd time to double check that it wasn't somewhere in the parking lot I met a wonderful man who found my wallet and was just about to walk the wallet to my home to return it to me. I just wanted to share this story with you because there are a lot of people with a lot of negative opinions who assume the worst of people, but I think this incident just shows that there are still honest people out there, and I truly appreciate this man's honesty and kindness. A reminder to all that we begin the transition from Summer to Fall this Labor Day weekend, and at St. Andrew's on Sunday morning, September 2, our services return to the Fall-Winter-Spring pattern: 9 a.m. Holy Communion, in the Chapel 11 a.m. Choral Holy Communion (Choral Morning Prayer on the 2nd Sunday of the month). Our Sunday morning "between the services" time for "Coffee and Conversation" in Brooks Hall will begin this Sunday, 10 a.m. Adult Bible Study and all our Church School and Youth programs will begin on Round Up Sunday, September 9, at 9:45 a.m. Nursery Care: 8:45 a.m. - 12:15 p.m. Remember the Round Up Sunday Picnic, to follow the 11 a.m. service (so, about 12:15 p.m.) in the Churchyard. Wear a Cowboy Hat! There will be fun, food, fellowship. A Magic Show for the kids and good times for all. We would remember in prayer long-time St. Andrean and Highland Park neighbor Ingeborg Bostwick--mother of Chris, mother-in-law of Carol, grandmother of Serena Marie and James Christopher--who died on Sunday afternoon, after a long illness. There will be a notice and obituary in the newspaper on Thursday, but please note that services will be geld in the Chapel at the Allegheny Cemetery, near the Penn Avenue entrance, this coming Saturday morning, September 1, at 10 a.m. May she rest in peace and rise in glory. [Highland Park] Please Be Aware of Pedestrians/Cyclists at Obama IB and in East Liberty Beginning August 29th!

Hello Neighbors: School starts this Wednesday and Thursday for students at the Barack Obama Academy of International Studies 6-12 which is now located at Peabody High School. Student enrollment is projected to reach 1,000 students, and 120 staff will be working in the school. There is also a pre-K program at the facility which is not associated with the Obama Academy. Please be aware of pedestrians and cyclists on North Highland Ave and throughout East Liberty. Students come from throughout the School District to attend this school, and many students are expected to utilize the East Busway and walk on foot through East Liberty to and from the school. Residents can expect increased vehicular traffic and school bus traffic early in the morning and in the mid-afternoon. Some parking restrictions have been changed around the school as well. The school is a closed campus during the day, but students participate in a wide variety of extracurricular activities in the evenings. The intersection at North Highland Ave and East Liberty Boulevard is not pedestrian friendly, and hopefully upgrades to the intersection will improve pedestrian access and safety at some point in the future.
