Hello Highland Park/East Liberty residents, I want to let you know that I do House Histories in your area and throughout southwestern Pennsylvania. A House History is a great way to learn when your house was built, who's owned it over the years, and a lot more information that gives context to Pittsburgh's architecture and history. I've done more than 1400 House Histories around Pittsburgh, several dozen of which have been in your neighborhoods: everything from rowhouses to the King Estate. [Highland Park] FREE Summer Camps Possible

Dear Neighbors, Do you know of some wonderful kids who could benefit from summer camp yet might not be able to afford it? Because of the generosity of a group of Highland Park residents, the Neighbors in Need Fund has *TWO **$500 scholarships available* for families who wish to have a child attend a day or overnight camp this summer. Families living in the Garfield, Bloomfield, Friendship, East Liberty, Lawrenceville and Highland Park neighborhoods are eligible to apply. The Neighbors in Need Fund will purchase scholarships on behalf of each recipient to Camp Deer Creek, located in Indiana Township (25 minutes by car from the East End). Each recipient’s family can choose either a day camp or overnight camp experience for their child. Camp Deer Creek can transport the child to and from the home if the day camp experience is selected. Camp Deer Creek provides lunch for day campers, and breakfast, lunch and dinner for overnight campers. To obtain an application, visit www.bloomfield-garfield.org and click on the “Youth”page to download one, Once completed, please return the application to the Bloomfield-Garfield Corporation office at 5149 Penn Avenue. Applications will also be available at the office. Two entries will be pulled on Friday, June 1, from the pool of applications, and the families of the two winners notified subsequent to that date. Please note the Neighbors in Need was started by Highland Park neighbors who seek to lend a helping hand to neighbors.
