I have recently relocated to Highland Park and want to go to the pool, but will need transportation. Hoping to find others who go for short swims and who might take me along too. Willing to help with gas or barter. I am older, female, and very flexible about time. Anyone can help? I live near Highland Ave. and Hampton St., and have trouble walking far. (I would also be interested in a ride to the Co-op or the Strip every once in awhile, same deal). Thanks!

Hello, I will be starting an AmeriCorps service year at a nonprofit located near where Children's Hospital is and I am looking for a nearby apartment. I need a 1 bedroom apartment that is less than $500/month ($400-$450 is ideal considering how low the AC stipend is.) I could pay a little more if utilities are included with the rent. Hello Everyone, Hot enough for ya'? Saturday we will start with Greenawalts local bread and butter corn, it will be in limited supply so we can keep it fresh. Chris just made up a fresh new summer salad.....Tuscan white bean salad, and we also have a very nice chick pea salad too. This summer has been smokin', business wise.......If you have not been in for a sandwich, stop by......our sandwich business is crazy. All good stuff at a reasonable price. I have the Columbus fire roasted pork loin at 9.99lb and also FINLANDIA swiss cheese at 5.99lb (fancy chain store price 9.99lb) We are also hot pressing our version of a cuban sandwich....Columbus pork loin, Boars Head smoked ham, relish, and your choice of cheese......we prefer a swiss.....but hey, whatever you're into is good by us...... Well it looks like we were not the only ones that the storm trashed. So here are the names of tree services we received in no particular order. I recently had to have a huge tree cut down. Had a great experience with DC Culley. Got several bids. His was the lowest AND they did a good job ------------------------- We used Keelen Brothers Tree Service, Inc., 412-781-3415, http://keelenbrotherstreeservice.com/ They removed two dead trees which towered over our 3 story house plus some bushes. They are professional, do a good job in cleaning up and provide their services to the Boy Scouts's Camp Guyasuta across the Highland Park Bridge. ------------------------ We highly recommend Treemadters. They took care of a mulberry tree in out yard, but have also serviced several of our neighbors. Very reasonably priced and do great cleanup! The owner also is an HP resident. The number us 412-450-8031. ------------------------ Sorry to hear abut your storm damage. We are a local tree company and can come and provide a free estimate for your tree service needs. Since our lot is local to this area, our prices are the most competitive and numerous Highland Park residents have used our services with great satisfaction. Call Jeff Olar at (724) 283-0310. He took down two trees for us. He is fast, extremely clean, and reasonably priced ----------------------------------- As to where we are in the process, I called the City at 311 to determine whether our tree, or any portion of it, is in the right of way. This after talking to a City crew that was taking down a tree that is in the ROW as well as clearly in the owners front yard. In short it pays to check in that ROW is not all ways obvious. Our question to the city is pending a review of the City maps. On the issue of home owners insurance we would get $150 after a $1,000 deductible. Big Whoop. [Highland Park] Basement finishing contractor needed

We got hit by Monday's rain storm. Our basement was flooded by water backup and we had to remove all the tiles to dry. Now, we need to decide how to finish the floor and we are thinking to go with decorative concrete. Do you have any suggestions about basement finishing contractors or any other ideas to finish the floor? We have a guest room, which used to have a carpetting over the tile, a laundry room, a toilet, a furnace room, and a closet. By the way, insurance won't cover the damege, because the back up water with rain and sewer water mixture are surface water, and not considered as sewer water back up, which we had a coverage for. Please give us any suggestions about basement remodeling ideas. Thanks. Tomoko
