The Steel City Slam put together a last minute event to qualify for the National Poetry Slam, and we need help promoting it. Two cities. One night. Join the Steel City Slam team as they host visiting poets from Bridgeport, CT in a best-of-three round battle for poetic dominance. The winner of this match gets a guaranteed spot in the 2011 National Poetry Slam in Cambridge, MA this August. This is also a fundraiser for the Steel City Slam, so there's a $5 cover to get in. [Highland Park] rhubarb plants

I have way more rhubarb than I need or have space for in my garden. I transplanted mine in the fall a few years ago from my mom, but if anyone wants some and want to give it a try transplanting in the spring to see if it will take let me know. It comes back every year and it multiplies...not dramatically but more so if you spread it out. Thanks! cferringer(a)hotmail.com

My son is slowly going through his stuff and has some more to sell. Car toy from Cars movie - $3 I don't remember the name, it wasn't a main character, but it talks and plays music. It's a good size. Human Body book/game - $1 never opened, book that has electronic guessing game about human body facts. Garbage truck - $2 pretty cool garbage truck that has a dumpster that lifts into the back of the truck. Cookie Monster Ornament - $1 unopened. Tribot - $8 This is a really cool toy. A robot with a remote control that talks and moves around. Missing a hand but it doesn't affect its function. I can't believe my son wanted to get rid of this toy. Greetings Highland Park! Interested in learning how to crochet or knit? Already skilled but looking to meet other crocheters and knitters from around the neighborhood? Then I have a group for you! The Highland Park Knitters and Crocheters will be meeting Thursday, March 24 (today) from 7pm-8pm in the Union Project (801 N Negley) board room. There is $1 fee for all attendees to cover the cost of space rental. Members are asked to bring there own supplies for specific projects, but I will have a few skeins of yarn and needles (currently a lot of knitting needles) with me to be borrowed for those wishing to learn but who do not have their own supplies yet. The Pennsylvania Resources Council (PRC) is pleased to announce the 2011 Schedule of Household Chemical Collections beginning Saturday, May 7, 2011 in Allegheny County at the North Park swimming pool parking lot.
