I've promised to make a Dr. Oz muffin recipe for my mother, and it calls for 1 tablespoon of ground chia seeds. It seems you have to buy 2 cups or more at a time and grind them yourself, and I don't have anything to grind them with. Could anyone on the list spare a tablespoon of ground chia seeds to help me out? If Mom likes the muffins and wants more, I'll buy a grinder and seeds, but I don't want to do that up front just to have her tell me that she doesn't really like them. I'll come pick them up (in Highland Park), bring my own container ... whatever it takes to make it easy for you. thanks,pat

Beginning this Sunday, at St. Andrew's, Highland Park, Pittsburgh: "How the Bible Became Sacred Scripture" -- At St. Andrew's, Highland Park, Pittsburgh, our Fall/Winter Adult Education Series, in observance of this 400th anniversary of the King James Version of the English Bible, features our Priest Associate, the Rev. Dr. Philip Wainwright, in a series of presentations and discussions on the topic, "How the Bible Came to be Sacred Scripture." All are welcome. The programs will take place from 4 - 5:30 p.m. on Sunday afternoons and will include a time for refreshments and informal conversation. The second session is this Sunday, December 11, and programs continue after the holidays on January 8, and January 22. Please join us for some stimulating and informative gatherings! [Highland Park] Phone Scam Alert

Two of our friends have recently been affected by phone scams. The calls came to elderly family members. A male said this is "your grandson". He sounded frantic and said that he had had a car accident and was given a breathalyzer, which he failed. He was in jail and this was his only phone call. He needed (anywhere from) $2900.00 -$4200.00 to be sent via Western Union or Money Gram at Walmart. He said that he did not want his parents to know. Sadly,in one case, the grandmother did send the money. Understandably, both families were quite upset. With a minute of online research, we found that this is a common scam (there are variations on it, too) which has been reported all over the US for years. Please be wary and let others know. * *
