Hi all, I was going through my winter stuff, and I realized I have so many hats/scarves/gloves - too many for me to use! I would really like to give them to a family or persons in need of winter accessories. Here is what I have: - 2 pair women's long-johns (size XL) - one turtleneck (white xl) - 10 scarves - 6 hats - 3 pair gloves Most of these are in more feminine colors (pink, purple, blue, sparkly). We recently had a very bad experience with a particular vet specialist at the Pittsburgh Veterinary & Specialty Emergency Hospital on Camp Horne Road that resulted in the death of our beloved lab. The director of the Hospital met with us and freely admitted that the care of our dog should have never been transferred to this specialist and that he failed to administer any diagnostic or treatment to her which subsequently led to her unexpected death. In researching the laws in Pa we have become aware that vets do not get sued as lawyers are unwilling to take these cases as there is no monetary reward in doing so. Dogs are considered property and the most one can hope for is the cost of the pet. There is no such thing as pain and suffering for the pet or the owner. It has been an eye opener for us as every other profession that takes lives into their hands are ultimately responsible for those lives. Vets are pretty much immune. In fact their liability insurance is only afew hundred dollars a year. We are wondering if there are any lawyers in our community who might have some thoughts about our situation and how we might proceed. We would also like hearing from any people who have had bad experiences at this particular specialty and emergency hospital. Marsha Aarons

[Highland Park] Antique Desk, wrought iron shelving unit

I have a large antique solid wood desk for sale. It was crafted by the Shelbyville Desk Company in Indiana in the early 1900s and is made out of black walnut which is now a very rare wood I'm told. The desk is a "secretarial style" with a side shelf that springs up for a typewriter!! (remember those?) Dimensions are 60" x 34" and stands 30" high. Excellent condition. Asking $750 obo.
