*Atticus is a 13 month old English Mastiff* male. He is waiting to be adopted from the Animal Rescue League. I can tell you from experience that this breed is wonderful. Gentle, loving, loyal, great with kids and generally very mellow. The sleep as much as most cats and don't need a ton of exercise. Thank you to all of our good neighbors who clear or arrange for someone to clear their walks in a timely fashion. Good job!! In response to the neighbor who is blaming his neighbors for turning him in for not doing what he ought to have done, or ought to have hired someone to do for him in the absence of his ability to do it himself...and by way of giving everyone a head's up....the City is writing citations this year. If you receive a citation, it is because you did not do what you were supposed to do. It is not because your neighbor is being mean to you. Perhaps if your neighbors knew you needed help, they would be neighborly and help you. Give your neighbors an opportunity to be good neighbors and ask them for help when you need it. My husband was involved in a couple of organized musical groups when we lived in Maine - one an orchestra and another a community band - and is hoping to find something here where he can play the trombone. Steel City Hoop Union invites you to come to our 2nd (annual??!) "hOOp for Haiti" at the Union Project this Tuesday, February 1st, from 6:30-8:30 pm!! Haiti has just marked the one-year anniversary of the powerful earthquake that killed 250,000 people and devastated much of the country. As they continue to struggle to rebuild, we are asking that you join us in raising money for this beautiful nation. Last year we raised over $40...0 for Brother's Brother Foundation! This year's proceeds will go to FilterPure Filters (http://www.filterpurefilters.org/) an organization which creates simple, effective, and sustainable water filters-- water filters which provide clean water and can resolve the cholera outbreak. All levels, ages, and sizes are hoopin-heartily welcome to partake in this Haitian celebration! We will be hooping to some Haitian grooves! Gwen Tucker will lead us in some Zumba fun, and we'll soon have news about live musical guests! There will also be a silent auction, and John Zolko of FilterPure Filters will speak about the organization as well as demonstrate how the filter process works. Together we will also enjoy some Haitian refreshments!!
