Conflict Kitchen is a take-out restaurant that only serves cuisine from countries that the United States is in conflict with. The food is served out of a take-out style storefront, which will rotate identities every 4 months to highlight another country. Each Conflict Kitchen iteration will be augmented by events, performances, and discussion about the the culture, politics, and issues at stake with each county we focus on. Kubideh Kitchen is an Iranian take-out restaurant that serves kubideh in freshly baked barbari bread with onion, mint, and basil. Developed in collaboration with members of the Pittsburgh Iranian community, the sandwich is packaged in a custom-designed wrapper that includes interviews with Iranians both in Pittsburgh and Iran on subjects ranging from Iranian food and poetry to the current political turmoil. Conflict Kitchen is next to the Waffle Shop at Baum and Highland in East Liberty. We are open everyday for lunch from 11am-2pm and late friday and saturday nights from 11pm-3am. more info at http://www.conflictkitchen.org

If you're not already signed up to sell, be sure to come out in search of yard sale treasures Sunday morning starting at 9:00 a.m. Over 120 homes have signed up! Starting at noon on Sunday through 6:00 pm is the Bryant Street Festival. Live music and vocal performances, artists, children's activities, local food vendors and much, much more! It will be a great day to celebrate Highland Park with your friends and neighbors. A special thanks goes out to Tambellini's and Tazza Doro. Without their support, the festival would not have been possible this year.

[Highland Park] Looking for a Bike - and recommendations of places to practice/learn to ride.

Hi Neighbors - I am an extreme novice at riding a bike (I've only been on a bike a handful of times in my life) and am looking for a used bike. Both of my sons got bicycles for Easter last year (!) and have so far had very little opportunity to ride (or learn to ride) them, because neither I nor my husband has a bike of our own, and I don't know of many places I can take them to practice. I'd like to be able to get out and ride with them so we can all learn together, but buying a new bike is not in the cards for me right now. So I'm wondering if any of my wonderful neighbors has a used bike that's collecting dust and looking for a new owner. The more basic, the better, and I don't care what it looks like, as long as it's in working condition. I can pay for it, but not much (no more than maybe $25-$30). Also, recommendations of good places to ride where we won't have to contend with many cars or steep hills would be much appreciated. Thanks! Julie Costa-Malcolm Wellesley Avenue

Anyone have recommendations for someone who can repair double hung windows in an old Highland Park home? We have broken ropes on the bottom sashes and some upper sashes that are either painted shut or do not say up. Thanks in advance for the help. Jamie
