To kick off a major historical celebration planned for 2010, the Historical Society will hold an exciting public event this Fall which will feature old photos, postcards, artifacts, and other memorabilia presented by local residents. If you have anything you might possibly be willing to share, please get in touch with me so we can determine how it might fit. All items will of course be returned after the program. Since the publication of our book Pittsburgh's East Liberty Valley, numerous people have told us that they have additional historical information or materials to share. This is an opportunity to help our community by preserving our wonderful heritage. [Highland Park] awful thing by our house this morning

When I went out to get our car this morning, there was an awful thing near our gate. It was a long stick wrapped around with beads and a cord and to the ends were tied animal head/bodies skins. They were from animals that had been alive at one time. We love animals. It was an awful thing to find. What is going on in this neighborhood. jai

Dear Neighbors, I live on Wellesley Ave, near Negley. Wanted to make everyone aware that someone broke into my friend's car last night. They had their car parked in the alley behind Wellesely Ave. They stole items that were in the glove box. Please be on the lookout for people breaking into cars at night, and make sure to take all your valuables out of your car, even the glove box, so this doesn't happen to you. Best Regards, Fred

HP neighbors, This morning (Friday) I exited my garage at approx. 10:30 for work, only to realize that I had left something behind in my house. I pulled around to Hampton st. and ran back in to retrieve it-wasn't gone more than 30-45 seconds- to come back to my vehicle to find my LARGE tote bag STOLEN from my car!!! As those of you have experienced this (read ALL the posts) ,I feel totally violated and angry! not to mention that my entire life and business "stuff" is in this bag! Well ,just in case someone should come across it, the bag is pewter (grey) colored 2handle rectangle shaped,a black shiny zip-around wallet inside along with a zillion other things! My little one has graduated to a front facing car seat so I no longer need his infant seat. It is a Britax Companion infant seat. It is rear facing only for 4-22lbs. It has gotten a lot of use in the last year but is still in really good shape. Made in USA and have the manual and original box. Includes the car base as well. I paid $165 at babyland 1 year ago.
