Hello neighbors, I live in the 1200 block of King Avenue and wanted to let everyone know that last evening/early AM (Jan. 15th) someone was walking through our neighborhood looking for unlocked cars. Unfortunately, for whatever reason, I left mine unlocked and a few items were taken out of my car. There were relatively fresh footprints in the snow of someone walking down King Avenue going car to car clearly looking for some that may be unlocked. Stay warm, Chris Hart 1211 King Avenue

[Highland Park] Furnace help

Hello neighbors: When it rains it poors over here on Jackson Street. Long story short, we need a new furnace. M. Fava and Son have been recommended to us by a plumber recommended by one of you ..thank you! Has anyone had a furnace put in by this company or another company. This is a bit of an emergency, as we have a CO issue and also a raw gas issue. Our furnace has been "red tagged" by the gas company. I hate to do this twice but it really helped us out last time. [Highland Park] Canceling of this evenings HPCC Meeting

Dear Neighbors - Due to the weather forecast for this evening, and it's -2 degree prediction, we have decided to hold off this evenings meeting until next month. I hope that this does not put anyone out, but the customers who have come in to us today have said that it is slow going out there, and with the temperature dropping still, we feel that this is the best course of action. Should you have any ideas for future meeting subjects, please feel free to e-mail or call me at the below contact information. [Highland Park] locksmith recommendation?

Hi neighbors - We've been in our new house for about two months and have decided that the front door lock, while original and quirky, is getting annoying. If you lock it with a key on the outside, you can't unlock it from the inside. Can anyone recommend a good locksmith to see if we can fix this issue? Thanks, Becky

East Liberty Valley Historical Festival -- 2010 Next year we plan to conduct a major event, co-sponsored by the East End/East Liberty Historical Society, the East Liberty Chamber of Commerce, East Liberty Development Inc (ELDI) and others. To kick off this effort, there will be a Wine & Cheese Party on Wednesday February 18, beginning at 5:30 pm, at 200 North Highland Avene (corner of Broad St.) There will be numerous exhibits of projects, both underway and planned, and opportunities to sign up for the various committees that will be formed to conduct this event. We will have on display some of our collection of rare historical books, a model blast furnace, and much more. All are welcome! Please come and participate. Hello Neighbors - Randy Venturini and I have been working diligently on a little CD project of mine called "Hestia" for the last while. We are happy to announce it's done and we have a release party coming up this weekend down at Your Inner Vagabond in Lawrenceville.
