Dear Neighbors, Thank you very much for all of your responses to my request for dumpster recommendations. We wound up renting a 10 ft U-haul truck and taking it to the dump located in Reserve ourselves for a total cost of $125(truck $45 dump fee $80). Driveway Dumpster's received several recommendations, and Michael Bro's received 2. Keep in mind that the city charges an extra $100 street permit if you don't have a driveway for the dumpster. They have a website. _www.drivewaydumpsters.com_ (http://www.drivewaydumpsters.com/) $275 over a weekend. And you don't need a street permit if you have a driveway. Street permit is $100. * Crowley's Rolloff's is a suggestion, not sure how much they cost though but they are dependable. _http://www.crowleyrolloffs.com_ (http://www.crowleyrolloffs.com/) * We have used Waste Management for many of our dumpster needs. With all of our real estate acquisitions in the neighborhood, they have been helpful with quick delivery and pick up of the dumpsters. Their service is incredible and the prices have been reasonable in the past. I would recommend getting some type of cover (tarp) for your dumpster, because in the wee hours of the nights and morning, you will come out to find that the community has decided to use your dumpster for their needs and it's a bit irritating when you have a huge project to complete. Hi Neighbors - We again are having our monthly meeting this coming Thursday, 19 JUN 08, starting at 7:00 PM at St. Andrews, here in Highland Park on Hampton Street. Kelly Vitti will be running this month's meeting, as all the other Officers are out of town. We have Susan Rademacher, Park Curator for the Pittsburgh Parks Conservancy, scheduled to talk about this year's plans in regards to our local Park. We also shall have Ethan Winograd, Committee Person for the Reservoir of Jazz, there to talk about the upcoming schedule for this year's Presentations. The HPCC proudly sponsors the ROJ that uses the Park as a beautiful back drop for these concerts in the Park. I hope that you can make time in your schedule to come both to this meeting, as well as to enjoy these Sunday outings to the Park to enjoy both the setting and music. Please remember that this Saturday, 14 JUN 08, is the Bryant Street Festival, and that there will not be a July meeting of the HPCC, so we shall see you again at our regularly scheduled time of the third Thursday of the month, 21 AUG 08. I know we are more likely to be talking about Heth's Run watershed on this list serve, but I am a long-time volunteer and board member for the Nine Mile Run Watershed Association. I thought some of my Highland Park Neighbors might be interested in this upcoming event, taking place in Frick Park NEXT weekend on Saturday, June 21. It will be a really wonderful event, and supports an outstanding organization that's making strides in improving our urban environment across the East End, so I hope you'll consider joining us! Come on out this Saturday from 1:00 til 7:00pm on Bryant Street for live music, art, food and children's activities! The Bryant Street Festival sponsored by the HPCC and Pittsburgh Fulton is an event for and by Highland Park people. There will be a moon walk, games, and face painting for kids. Our own Bryant Street's businesses such as Reynold's and The Smiling Banana Leaf will be selling food. In addition many other East End groups will be participating. Looking forward to seeing you Saturday!
