[Highland Park] Surveyor Recommendations

I'm looking for a reasonably priced surveyor to survey my square corner lot here in Highland Park, as I'm thinking of building a fence on one side. The job would just entail figuring out where 2 property lines are, and then driving a few stakes along one of those lines -- no drawings necessary -- yet for some reason, all the surveyors I've called are in the $375 to $500 range, which seems unreasonably high to me given that this would only be the work of an hour or two. [Highland Park] Utility Separation

I'm looking into separating the gas and electric in my house for each individual unit - as I live in one part and rent the rest. Has anyone does this before? I'm wondering what I need to do and if I contact the utility companies or a electrician/heating specialist. Also, what kind of expense would I be getting into with this type of project? [Highland Park] March Madness Babysitting Service (again!)

Neighbors: I forgot to attach the flyer the first time! Here is my message again: Our daughters' school, Liberty Elementary (in Shadyside) is sponsoring another babysitting evening -- the March Madness Babysitting Service on March 28th from 6–9 p.m. All proceeds will be used to help fund the 5th graders' trip in May to Washington, D.C., which they are really looking forward to! Some of you came and took advantage of this in February when we did a Valentine's Day Babysitting Service -- thanks! It went really well, and I think everyone had a good time. Children aged 2 and up are welcome. They will be cared for (and entertained) by Liberty 5th graders, supervised by parents and staff. Acting as one of the east end host sites for the NCECA Conference which takes place at the Convention Center March 19th – 22nd, the Union Project, located at 801 N. [Highland Park] teens with a gun

Just wanted to let everyone know about a very disturbing event that happened on Thursday. When I arrived home at around 5 pm, my neighbor had just come out to scare off 4 young men who came up on my porch. (Perhaps to urinate?) There were no signs of break-in. I had just missed them, but my neighbor told me what the boys were wearing. I drove around the block and saw them only a block away. A police car was in the neighborhood so I pulled up and explained the situation and where I saw the young men. Just a little while later four police cars had the four boys cuffed. On his way home my husband stopped to ask the police about it (after I had phoned him.) It turned out one of the boys had a gun. Again, I haven't heard anything more about it, but I wanted to alert everyone in the neighborhood. Susan Corbesero 5524 Wellesley Ave.
