Robison: The East Liberty Quarter Chamber of Commerce (ELQCC), in conjunction with the East End/East Liberty Historical Society, is pleased to announce our 1st Annual Golf Classic to be held on Friday, September 21, 2007 at the Churchill Valley Country Club. This is sure to be a spectacular event which will include lunch, greens fees, prizes, gifts and an impressive dinner to round out the day. The ELQCC is celebrating its 80th anniversary in 2007 and has been a faithful advocate for the wonderful East Liberty community since its inception. We enjoyed the glory years of the district in the mid 20th century when East Liberty was the second downtown in Pittsburgh. We persevered through the citys dreadful urban renewal plan in the 1970s and 80s when our commercial core was transformed into a failed pedestrian mall. And we are now poised and excited by this districts overwhelming potential to once again become the thriving commercial and retail center of Pittsburghs East End. As supporters of East Libertys revitalization, we ask that you join us by celebrating with fun, food and golf on September 21, 2007. Please complete and return the enclosed pamphlet with a list of golfers you wish to bring. If you are not a golfer, please consider joining us for a great dinner after the round. I am currently a graduate student in the School of Social Work, at the University of Pittsburgh doing an internship with CYS. Last year I did an internship at an adoption agency. Now, I have free time on the week-ends and would like to do some babysitting/childcare during the afternoon or evenings. I am a mature 23 years old female who has had a great deal of prior experience in a number of childcare settings including working at a daycare center for four years, as a summer camp counselor, and have babysat frequently for children from newborn and up. These, plus my current graduate school internship work makes me uniquely qualified..and, of course, I really enjoy children! You will find that I am reliable, trustworthy, mature, energetic, and cheerful with my own transportation. I am willing to care for your child/children in your home or take them to places of entertainment or cultural experiences of your choice. [Highland Park] Smashed Car Windows on Stanton

Hello, neighbors This morning, between 6:30 & 7:20 a.m., perhaps as many as 15-20 cars had a window smashed out on Stanton between Highland & the tennis courts near the park entrance, with the heaviest concentration between Highland & the bend in the street. I called 911 around 7:30. The dispatcher initially said the owners would have to report it, but since there were so many, she said she would send someone to see if the guilty party(s) were still around. Not every single car was hit - sometimes it was the driver window, sometimes the back, at least once the rear window (in an SUV). The SUV still had things in the back that weren't taken, so I don't know if theft was the motive. Because I didn't notice anything when I was driving down from the tennis courts toward Highland around 6:30, but only on the way back, I think it happened this morning rather than last night, though I can't be sure. Just wanted to alert you about this. The teenager that was cutting my lawn this summer and doing some light yard work for me has left for school. I'm looking for someone that can take over and help with some basic weeding, light pruning, shrub trimming and cutting a postage sized amount of grass. [Highland Park] soccer stuff

neighbors, i have embarked on my second year as westinghouse high school's soccer coach and could use any of the following: used soccer shoes goalie stuff, gloves, jersey, etc. small portable goals. i'd be happy to pick up anything you may have. we won 2 games last year but more importantly had alot of fun thanks, muzz meyers communities in schools coordinator westinghouse high school 412-665-3945
