Hello, If anyone has recommendations of professionals (ideally reasonably priced) for the following projects, they would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! 1. laying tile in a bathroom (smaller tiles) 2. building an internal wall in the basement, sheetrocking and finishing it, and building a closet in part of the wall. (someone mentioned that the wall will be built with metal studs (?) as that is what the other wall that this one will extend from is built with. I love that the HP neighbors get first crack at the good stuff that shows up on the list. Thank you! But if no one in HP wants your stuff, another great way to get it out of your house, and not have it wind up in a landfill, is Pittsburgh Freecycle. Here's the website, for further detailed info: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/pittsburgh_freecycle/ And I have to add: you may think something is only fit for the dump, but you might be wrong. It regularly surprises me the stuff that is offered and taken on the Freecycle list. I just wanted to make sure that everyone cleaning out their basements and attics and garages knows about this. [Highland Park] Free Box Spring and Decorative Trees

The posting about the free couch made me realize that someone in the neighborhood might find the extra queen sized box spring and two decorative trees that we have available useful. We will be taking a load of things to Goodwill this weekend, so you would need to pick them up today (Friday). Nothing is wrong with the box spring, we just can't get it up in the attic where we needed it. Same with the trees - we just don't need them anymore. I have a few things that are free for the asking: * A series of The Great Courses on audio tape. These are excellent, prepared by noted scholars in the field and accompanied by course guidebooks. The ones I have include: --The Aeneid of Virgil, 6 audio casettes --The Iliad of Homer--6 audio casettes --Ancient Greek Civilization--12 audio casettes --Dante's Divine Comedy--6 video casettes --Classical Mythology I, II--12 audio casettes --The Odyssey of Homer--6 audio casettes * a small, portable TV that can play videos * This one's a long shot--but can anybody use a big, old, white kitchen sink--53 inches long? We will be in need of daycare for a 2 1/2-3 month old infant beginning in May 2007. We would prefer a location in Highland Park, Morningside or another nearby neighborhood. We would consider options in Squirrel Hill or Shadyside, but would prefer something closer if we can find it. We are willing to consider a nanny, a home based daycare or a larger facility. Care will be needed either 4 or 5 days a week. Any suggestions are appreciated. Thank you!
