Anybody want some hostas? Ours have expanded wildly, and a friend tells me they can be thinned and transplanted pretty easily. I am basically ignorant about gardening with decorative plants (these were here when we moved in), but if you know what you're doing and would like to come get some of these, just drop me an email. >From Jan Stayianos, Public Safety chairperson, HPCC I announced at the HPCC meeting last Thursday, and it will be in our next newsletter. I was told recently that the city Narcotics Dept. is working very closely with State and Federal agents to try to catch the "big guys" and that the zones will handle neighborhood complaints about drug activity. With that in mind, I am asking anyone who has a drug situation near their home to give me the information in writing, with as many details as possible, so that I can take all of the complaints together to the commander at zone 5. I still urge you to call 911 and utilize silent complaint forms so that the information is documented. You can drop anything off at 811 Farragut Street or put it in the mail. Hi, I'm looking for a before school care option this fall for my son who will be starting kindergarten at Dillworth Academy. I usually leave my house between 7:00 and 7:15. The school day officially begins at 9:00, but children can be dropped off as early as 7:30 for unstructured play. I'm looking for someone who could provide this care on a regular basis getting him to school around 8:30, with the option to drop off earlier when necessary, or other options if people know of them. [Highland Park] metal signs for sale

I have three metal signs in my basement - Sinclair Gasoline (approx 6 ft round), Topp Oil and Chemicals (maybe 18 inches by 5ft) and Pennzoil (small, like 1 x 2 feet.) I've been told these are salable as antiques, at least the larger two (the smaller one may well be a reproduction.) I used the smaller two as kitchen decorations and kept meaning to make a coffee table out of the Sinclair one but it never happened. We're moving, and I'm thinking these aren't worth hauling with me, given the likelihood we'll really make that coffeetable anytime soon. I don't have the time/energy to go getting appraisals on my own right now, but I thought I'd open these signs up for offers if anyone's interested in coming over here to take a look. I know this neighborhood's just brimming over with creative people who may want to play around with these. Serious inquiries only, please. Thanks! Leslie
