Our local District Judge and Highland Park neighbor Mik Pappas is seeking a seat on the County Court of Common Pleas as part of a Judicial Reform Coalition that also includes attorneys Lisa Middleman and Nicola Henry-Taylor. Judicial elections are bipartisan and all three candidates are seeking the nominations of both major parties. In his time as our District Judge, Mik has reduced evictions in our neighborhoods by nearly 40%, eliminated the use of cash bail in his court, and helped our neighbors struggling with addiction or mental health needs get treatment as an alternative to incarceration. To get access to the ballot in the primary, each candidate needs to collect at least 1,000 signatures from eligible voters.
