For some years now we  of St. Andrew's Episcopal Church, Highland Park,  have enjoyed sharing the annual observance of the Feast of St. Francis, with prayers and blessings for pets and their families, with our friends of St. Andrew Lutheran Church, Oakland. Although it would ordinarily be "our turn" this year, the complications of our renovations schedule have suggested a bit of revision of the usual pattern. And so: the service will be held in 2014 at St. Andrew Lutheran Church, corner of Morewood Street and Center Avenue in the Oakland neighborhood, on Saturday, October 5, at 2 p.m.  Dogs both extroverted and shy, curious cats, fish in bowls and bird in cages, bunnies and iguanas  --all of course appropriately controlled as needed!  We look forward to it!
