This evening I was in the side yard with my daughter when we came back around to the front and saw a teenage-early 20s guy slowly creeping up our walkway on one of our bikes (the one we didn't have locked that was on our front porch). I was confused, not realizing at first it was our bike. I ran after him and yelled, alerting some neighbors. My husband ran out and one of the neighbors pointed him in the thieve's direction. They guy had already left the bike in what is presumably his yard (at 630 N. Negley near the intersection of Hays) and went to talk to a guy in a parked car. While the guy's back was turned my husband grabbed the bike and brought it home. Please be vigilant about keeping your bikes and other belongings secured. 'Tis the season for thieving, unfortunately.
