hi neighborhors, my husband put a framed babytrend backpack baby carrier out with the trash yesterday and this morning noticed that it was gone before the rest of the trash, meaning someone picked it up. normally that's obviously fine, but this backpack was out with the trash because it had been RECALLED by the manufacturer because of defective seams. if the person who took it sees this, please DO NOT use this carrier with your baby, the seams could potentially unravel and create a dangerous situation. the recall information is here http://www.cpsc.gov/cpscpub/prerel/prhtml07/07138.html my mom had bought the carrier from a friend at a yard sale before the recall, but since it didn't fit any of us properly, we never bothered to exchange it during the recall and just used other carriers instead (i teach babywearing, so we had plenty to choose from). the carrier was taken from the trash in front of our house on hampton street, across the street from fulton elementary school. genevieve hower
