Hi Neighbors, Got shoes? Don't throw them away. Give them to me and help fundraise for an organization that saved my soul after my daughter was born unexpectedly with Down syndrome, the Down Syndrome Diagnosis Network. Their mission is to connect moms with resources, support, and information during a very difficult time. They also educate doctors delivering the news to expectant parents. My doctor painted a life of hardship, and he was wrong. I don't want another mom to experience what I went through. I am collaborating with the company, GoSneakers, to help raise money for DSDN. We get $1 for every pair of sneakers and $.10 for every other kind of shoe. They can be in any shape. I will be collecting shoes through World Down Syndrome Day (3/21). If you have any, leave them on your front porch and I can come collect at your convenience. If any of you would be willing to collect shoes at your place of business, church, or school, please let me know. I will provide materials and a box. I can also come pick them up. By participating, you'll keep sneakers out of landfills while also putting shoes on the feet of less fortunate people across the world in places such as the Caribbean, Central America, South America, West Africa, and Europe. It's a win win for everyone.
