Re: [Highland Park] Chistmas Tree Disposal
There was some info posted on this recently, but I didn't save it. You can put it out with the trash (I think through the first week or two of January, but I'm not sure), but the drawback is that it will just end up in a landfill. Better, if you can do it, is to take it someplace that will recycle, such as Construction Junction in Point Breeze or the City recycling drop-off on Dallas at Hamilton. The city drop-off is open 8:00 am to 2:00 pm Monday through Friday. Be aware that they charge a fee if you bring your stuff in a truck or a trailer. In a car it is free (you must be a city resident and show your driver's license). You can take it whole (if you can manage that in your car). If you bag it in plastic, you must remove it from the bag(s) before you leave it. Paper bags are OK. Bill Ghrist [Removed by request] wrote:
How does one go about disposing of Christmas trees in Highland Park? Do we leave them with the other refuse, chop them up into pieces and bag them, or something else? Any guidance is appreciated; Pittsburgh's municipal website is profoundly unhelpful on this issue, as usual. Thanks -- [Removed by request]
