[Highland Park] PAT Transit Service from Highland Park
Neighbors: As many of you will know, the express bus serving Highland Park, the 73B, is being eliminated as of June 17th. Many of us use this bus to travel to and from town for work, so this is a real loss. To PAT Transit's credit, it has planned a re-routing of the 93A Cheswick-Aspinwall Express bus to allow it to come through Highland Park as an alternative to the lost 73B. However, they are cutting its last run of the morning (arriving in town at 8:17 a.m.), which is needed for many Highland Park residents trying to get to work. We are circulating a petition, at the suggestion of a Customer Service Rep for PAT, to ask that the last run of the 93A be restored. If we garner a significant number of signatures, we may be able to get this in September, when the next round of transit changes are slated to occur. We've had the petition on the bus the last few days, but with it being a holiday week, etc., we feel we may be missing some folks who use the 73B currently or who might have planned to come fall. So, if you'll contact me via email, I'll arrange to get the petition to you. Or you can come by our house during the yard sale, at 5810 Elgin Street, and I'll have copies of the petition available there. Thanks!
