TO ALL HIGHLAND PARK KIDS: BE GREEN THIS SATURDAY, November 7th!! Please join us for fun tree-related kids activities at the neighborhood tree planting event this Saturday morning at 9:00 a.m. Adults can help plant trees while your kids are doing fun things! Refreshments will be provided. Date: November 7 Time: 9 am Place: Corner of Stanton Ave and Mellon (come to the kids table!) Rain or shine Kids activities: Plant spring flower bulbs in the tree holes!! Wear clothes that can get dirty and sneakers Learn all about trees and animals that live in them by doing fun worksheets and puzzles! A local tree expert will talk to us about why we are planting trees, etc. We'll give you a tree identification guide and learn how to identify different tree species!! We'll do leaf rubbing drawings! Take home a dogwood tree seedling to plant in your own yard! BE THERE OR BE SQUARE: THIS IS PROBABLY THE LAST OUTDOOR KIDS ACTIVITY FOR THE SEASON...VOLUNTEERS ARE WELCOME. WE'LL NEED ASSISTANTS TO HELP THE KIDS WITH THE VARIOUS ACTIVITIES & to help serve refreshments.
